The Exile Media Hub Berlin supports displaced journalists and exiled newsrooms by providing consultancy, back-office services, and a space for collaboration and learning. Together with local media organizations and partner hubs across the EU, we engage in advocacy, develop collaborative projects, and foster partnerships, and networking to strengthen sustainable independent media in exile.

ProjectCollaborative and Investigative Journalism Initiative (CIJI)
CIJI provides resources and networking to support investigative journalism across established and emerging media organisations. Operating across the EU and neighbouring regions (2023–2025), CIJI serves journalists including displaced professionals from Ukraine, Belarus, and Russia.

NEXUS is a cross-border initiative using investigative journalism to counter Kremlin influence globally. The programme supports journalists and civil society in exposing disinformation, coercion, and interference.

ProjectStrengthening Ukrainian Investigative Reporting
The programme provides short-term grants for journalistic investigations, reporting, and content production. Ukrainian editorial offices, freelance journalists, data researchers, and media start-ups are eligible to apply. This includes media organisations operating in exile or whose employees work in Germany.
