Meet jinn at the Exile Media Forum in Hamburg
On October 13, jinn will be at the Exile Media Forum in Hamburg with a Deep Dive workshop on monetization and revenue-models, led by Kirill Artemenko from Paper Media.
Exile Media Forum brings together more than 100 exiled media professionals, along with representatives from politics and support organizations, to discuss the future of exile journalism, share experiences, and build connections.
We’re glad to share that jinn will join this year’s Exile Media Forum, held October 13–14 as of the Week of the Press Freedom in Hamburg. On Day 1, jinn will contribute to a Deep Dive session with the workshop "No Safety Net? How Exile Media Are Building Innovative Funding Models," together with Kirill Artemenko, co-founder of Paper Media. We’ll share findings from our study on monetization, revenue models, and innovation. The session will be facilitated by the jinn team Aigulle Sembaeva and Sergey Medvedev.
The forum will also address a wide range of other topics, including:
- Digital authoritarianism and internet shutdowns, with a focus on Iran
- Transnational repression against exiled journalists
- Reaching diaspora audiences
- Staying resilient and safe while working in exile
- Mergers and collaboration within the exile media landscape
- Exile as a lasting reality for journalists in Latin America
- Digital security strategies for Afghan and other exiled media professionals

The conference will be conducted in English. Participation is free of charge, but online registration is required, and spaces are limited.
